With New York Comic Con 2020 upon us, will there be any Star Wars panels?

New York Comic Con is looking a bit different this year. As with all conventions that managed to not be delayed this year, NYCC is going all digital. We saw this play out with San Diego Comic-Con with a mild degree of success. And now it’s time for New York Comic Con to give the digital convention a shot.

While there’s no telling just how much programming was either removed, altered or added for this digital con, we do now know what the schedule will be like. The convention will run on Thursday, Oct. 8 and will end on Sunday, Oct. 11.

So, with that, will there be any Star Wars programming? The short, good news is yes, there will be some Star Wars panels at NYCC this year. Though, it won’t be anything regarding the TV or movie universes. The panels will be all about Star Wars books, which is perfect timing considering that Star Wars is getting ready to launch its High Republic era stories in January. There will also be a shorter panel featuring those from the Star Wars community including Amy Ratcliffe and Ashley Eckstein. For all the info on the panels, you can check out the guide below.

"The code that all Jedi strive to follow offers principles for being at peace and learning. In fact, these tenets are useful not just in a galaxy far, far away, but here in our own world. While the Force isn’t present in our galaxy, we can still learn from how the Jedi use it to guide their lives. And we can use these lessons about the Force as a gateway to studying mindfulness and putting practices into action. Join us for an exploration of how the practice of mindfulness inspires and empowers some of our favorite Star Wars characters, and how we can bring some of that inspiration into our everyday lives. Panelists include Amy Ratcliffe, Managing Editor of Nerdist and author of The Jedi Mind; Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, and founder of Her Universe; and Dr. Drea Letamendi psychologist and co-host of the Lattes with Leia podcast."

Additionally, there will be a few Star Wars-related guests, including Star Wars authors, who will take place in various panels. There will also be a panel called Worldbuilding with Fans & Franchises, for example, that will feature Jar Jar Binks actor and Jedi Temple Challenge host Ahmed Best.

On top of all that, there will also be some Star Wars merchandise. Most notably, there will be New York Comic Con exclusive Funko Pops! that you can get as a part of this convention. There’s plenty of information on the Pops! in our guide here, so make sure to keep an eye on that ASAP because the convention is now upon us.
