Who is the Frog Lady in The Mandalorian?
In every new installment of a Star Wars production, we can expect to be introduced to new characters and creatures, some of which might look familiar and others who are totally unique in appearance. The Disney Plus live-action series The Mandalorian is certainly no different.
In season 1, we met those horned creatures called mudhorns, the creepy reptilian-looking blurrgs, and the water-dwelling creatures with husks, the ravinaks. We also, of course, learned that whatever species Yoda is, he’s not alone. The introduction of The Child was arguably the most exciting part of the show so far.
As we all know by now, there’s no creature too strange or intricate for the galaxy far, far away. And now, fans might be wondering who another new addition to the franchise might be.
The Frog Lady
In the latest episode of The Mandalorian, chapter 10, Din Djarin is introduced to the Frog Lady, who literally looks like a life-sized frog who speaks. Now, we’ve seen frogs in the Star Wars universe before, even in The Mandalorian (Baby Yoda loves to eat them). But this exact female creature is not one we’ve seen before.
You can see an image of her here.
So what species is the Frog Lady? Well, we don’t know just yet. All we really do know about her is that she needs Mando to escort her from Tatooine, and she has a big bottle of eggs she’s needing to be fertilized. She promises that her husband has seen other Mandalorians, so Din Djarin agrees to help.
And so, Mando, Baby Yoda, and the Frog Lady are off. And we’ll never be able to look at The Child the same ever again after all of the eggs he ingests.
The Frog Lady is voiced by a Star Wars alum, Dee Bradley Baker, who also served as a voice actor for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Resistance, and more. The amphibian-like creature is played by performance artist Misty Rosas, who previously portrayed Kuiil in season 1.
So far, the Frog Lady seems sweet, and we’re certainly interested to hear more from her kind. What’s her and what’s her species’ story? Here’s to hoping we find out!
New episodes of The Mandalorian season 2 drop every Friday morning on Disney Plus.
