There’s an Ahsoka series coming to Disney+ as it has been finally announced during the Disney Investors Day Presentation.
It’s official! Ahsoka Tano is finally getting her own spinoff series. Announced during the Disney Investors Day presentation by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, the series will continue as a spinoff to The Mandalorian episode “Chapter 13: The Jedi,” which saw the live-action debut of Ahsoka as played by Rosario Dawson.
No other details for the Ahsoka series were released outside of it being one of two spinoffs to spawn from The Mandalorian with the second being Rangers of the New Republic. It will be fascinating to see how the Star Wars: Ahsoka series plays out and where it sits in the overall timeline.

After the airing of “The Jedi” episode, we covered a combined interview done with Dave Filoni and Rosario Dawson from Vanity Fair and we took on the Ezra and Star Wars Rebels aspects of the piece. There was a reference to where Chapter 13 sat in the Star Wars timeline. Did it take place after Ahsoka goes with Sabine to find Ezra or do it occur before? This conversation as sparked a massive debate online.
With the Ahsoka series, there are still so many questions that come with the announcement:
- When is the series set in the timeline?
- Will there be flashbacks to Ahsoka’s time in the Jedi Order?
- Will Sabine Wren appear?
- Will she get a new costume?
- Will Anakin, Obi-Wan, and/or Rex appear?
- Has Ezra Bridger been found by the time the show picks up?
- Will we see the World Between Worlds?
There are just too many questions that we have that will be answered in due time. There is no air date yet but it should be as soon as either 2021 or 2022. It is unclear whether the series will debut before or after Rangers of the New Republic. Regardless, of what happens, welcome to the live-action realm, Ahsoka!
