There’s good news for fans of video game soundtracks, especially of the Star Wars variety. After a long wait, the soundtracks for both EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront I and Star Wars: Battlefront II are finally being released.

According to Variety on Thursday, the soundtrack for the first Battlefront game should already be out on streaming and available for purchase digitally as of midnight ET today (or 9 p.m. PT on Thursday). Then, Battlefront II will follow on Feb. 5. The scores will be released by Walt Disney Records, and the music was created by notable composer Gordy Haab.

This release has really been a long time coming, seeing how long it’s been since both Battlefront games came out. Battlefront was an exciting game that came out in 2015, and Battlefront II was released in 2017 — both coinciding around the release of the sequel movies, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, respectively.

Battlefront then and now

For those a little too anxious to return to the nostalgia of the game, the first Battlefront soundtrack has been uploaded to YouTube in a playlist. The soundtrack for Battlefront II has also been uploaded to YouTube, though it should be noted that neither of the playlists comes from an official Walt Disney Records or Star Wars YouTube account.

Battlefront has also been in the news recently for a variety of different reasons. Just this week, we saw Battlefront II have a record number of new players join when the game became free to play — 19 million players, that is. And in addition to that, rumors have been swirling about the creation of a Battlefront III or a spinoff game because of some highly suspicious activity from the cast of the second game.

In any case, it’s nice to hear some good news about Battlefront. Hopefully, in the near future, there will be more in development in regards to the next installment in this series. But for now, fans will have the amazing soundtrack to listen to. And, of course, the games will always be there to play as well.
