Star Wars is once again bringing a taste of the holidays to us early again. (Or late? It feels like the holidays were just yesterday!) But in one of the latest books coming to stores soon, the Skywalker family will let it all go and enjoy the magic of the holiday season.
The new book is called Star Wars: A Vader Family Sithmas, and it comes from Jeffrey Brown, who you may know from his other works like Darth Vader & Son (2012), Vader’s Little Princess (2013) and Goodnight Darth Vader (2014). Brown’s illustrated books are definitely on the lighter side when it comes to the Star Wars books out there. And the funny, adorable style brings you back to the wholesome days of reading comic strips in the daily paper.
In this series, Vader finally gets to raise his twins, Luke and Leia, as they undergo all kinds of wacky scenarios. And in A Vader Family Sithmas, it’s all about them celebrating the holiday season.
While there is Life Day for folks in the galaxy to celebrate, it looks like this definitely leans more toward them celebrating Christmas. For example, in one of the pages revealed by StarWars.com, Vader takes Luke and Leia to go see Santa Claus. As the kids rattle on, Santa looks visibly annoyed. (And it even looks like Vader hired Tarkin to fill the role of Santa for him!)
On another page, none other than Jabba the Hutt is throwing a holiday party at his club. And even Leia, Han, and the droids are mixing and mingling among the likes of Boba Fett and Bib Fortuna. It goes to show that only the holidays can bring all kinds of people together.
To see the pages for yourself, you can head over to StarWars.com. You can also tune into the latest episode of This Week! in Star Wars for more.
You’ll have to be a bit patient for this festive book to arrive. The book is available for pre-order now, but it won’t be available until Oct. 5.
