The series is both a sequel and a spin-off of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The show will be set in the imperial era after the events of its predecessor. So, what can fans expect from the latest animated Star Wars series? Here’s what we know so far.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch release date

The Bad Batch is set to land on Disney+ on Tuesday, May 4 with a 70-minute premiere episode. Yes, Star Wars Day. Think of it as a gift from the House of Mouse. One that will help tide fans over until the end of the year when The Book of Boba Fett releases.

According to StarWars.com, after the premiere of the series, Star Wars fans can look forward to the second episode’s release on Friday, May 7. From there, subsequent episodes will release Fridays.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch cast

We know very little about the cast for the series outside of Dee Bradley Baker once again voicing the clone troopers including the members of the titular group: Crosshair, Echo, Hunter, Tech and Wrecker.

Ming-Na Wen will be reprising the role of Fennec Shand for the animated series. The mercenary debuted in The Mandalorian season one.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch synopsis

Per Disney, here is the official synopsis of the show:

"The Bad Batch follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.
