Star Wars fans have been without a Star Wars series for quite some time. And the anticipation for Star Wars: The Bad Batch is at an all-time high.
This series will be a spinoff of the super-popular Star Wars: The Clone Wars and will follow the group of clones known as none-other-than The Bad Batch. The last we saw them, it was in the final season of The Clone Wars, which streamed directly to Disney+.
And now that the events of The Clone Wars have concluded, many are excited to see what the gang is up to when it comes to the adventures of Clone Force 99. Plus, we’ll also get to see a familiar face in this from The Mandalorian, Boba Fett’s new partner-in-crime Fennec Shand — though, she will be a younger version of herself compared to when we saw her in season 2 of the live-action show.
So, when will we get to see the Bad Batch crew back in action?
The Bad Batch season 1 release date
Well, there’s both good news and bad news when it comes to The Bad Batch premiere. Disney recently revealed its list of shows and movies that will be coming to Disney+ in April. And while some of that included favorites like Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars and even The Story of the Faithful Wookiee, The Bad Batch was not one of the shows listed as premiering in April.
But the good news is that a premiere date is, in fact, set for The Batch Batch. The show will be released on May 4, 2021 — otherwise known as Star Wars Day. And not only that, but there’s double good news. Since new episodes are typically released on Fridays on Disney+, there will also be another new episode on Friday, May 7. After that, each new episode will be released at 12 a.m. PT, just like all of Disney+’s other releases.
So, the countdown begins. It should be an exciting Star Wars Day this year, and we’re looking forward to seeing what else Star Wars is going to announce for its May 4 celebration.
