Now that we’ve reached spring, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has officially begun filming. And Star Wars kicked off filming for the series with a huge announcement last month that included all the actors who had been cast in the show… or at least, we thought those were all the actors.

Today, Variety revealed that one more person has been cast in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series who was not in the initial announcement, actress Maya Erskine. As Variety reports, Erskine most notably starred in the Hulu series PEN15, and she’s also starred in the likes of HBO’s Insecure and Netflix’s Wine Country.

It hasn’t yet been revealed who she will play in the series, but she’s joining quite an incredible cast. Of course, Ewan McGregor returns to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. And Hayden Christensen is back as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Both prequel actors for Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru are also making a return. Then, we have the likes of Kumail Nanjiani and O’Shea Jackson Jr. joining the cast — so it’s without a doubt filled with some excellent talent.

Overall, while we don’t know who Erskine will be playing in this series, we do have a general idea of what the series is about.

It takes place 10 years after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and it’ll follow Obi-Wan’s time on Tatooine (and perhaps other places) as he lies low and keeps a watchful eye over a young Luke Skywalker.

Other than that, we’re not quite sure what adventures Obi-Wan will be getting up to and how that will involve the other actors in the series — so the possibilities are truly endless when it comes to who Erskine could play. Though, her background in comedy might lend her to a character with a more comedic presence. Obi-Wan himself was quite playful in Episode III, so we’d love to see him continue that type of energy with another character while the galaxy goes up in flames thanks to Darth Vader and the Emperor.

We’ll continue to follow developments for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, so check back on Dork Side of the Force for more!
