Star Wars fans had a lot to celebrate on Star Wars Day 2021 thanks largely to the day being used to launch the latest original Star Wars animated series with the launch of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney Plus.
The newest addition to the ever-growing catalog of Star Wars shows and movies is a spin-off of the beloved series The Clone Wars, with The Bad Batch following the adventures of the Clone Force 99 following the events of Order 66.
Given its roots in the previously established franchise, The Bad Batch introduces viewers to both familiar and new faces with its premiere episode, “Aftermath.” Among the familiar faces who appear in the first episode of the season is Caleb Dume, who fans will recognize from Star Wars Rebels albeit a much younger version of the character.
While in Star Wars Rebels Caleb was an experienced Jedi known as Kanan Jarrus, in The Bad Batch we get to see the character as a young Padawan with the first episode of the season delving a bit into the character’s backstory and its connection to The Bad Batch.
Who plays Caleb Dume in Star Wars: The Bad Batch?
In Star Wars Rebels the character of Kanan Jarrus was voiced by actor Freddie Prinze Jr. and it appears that Prinze Jr. has returned to reprise his role as the voice behind Caleb Dune in Star Wars; The Bad Batch.
This is far from uncommon for Star Wars voice actors as Lucasfilm is known for welcoming back iconic voice actors to reprise their roles in spinoff projects. In fact, according to his IMDb page, Prinze Jr. is the only actor who seems to have voiced the character thus far in the Star Wars franchise having also voiced Kanan Jarrus in the Star Wars: Rebels – Recon Missions and Disney Infinity 3.0 video games as well as in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker
