As fans know, there’s a handful of super exciting shows coming to Disney+ in the next few years, including Marvel’s Loki this June, The Book of Boba Fett in December, and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which does not yet have a release date. Another Star Wars show to look forward to is Andor, which will follow Cassian Andor from Rogue One, played by Diego Luna. It’s a great time to be a fan of a galaxy far, far away!

But much like the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, Andor does not have a confirmed release date. It looks like the Star Wars series are moving along quickly, with The Mandalorian season 2 ending earlier this year, The Bad Batch beginning this month, and then The Book of Boba Fett releasing at the end of the year. If the viewership on Disney+ continues on as strong as it’s been, we can hopefully expect new shows and seasons on the streaming service to keep us going throughout each year for a while to come.

So where is Andor on the list of upcoming releases? Could it debut sometime in 2021?

Andor release date

While we don’t have an official release date yet, we aren’t expecting Andor to come out at any point in 2021. The series is currently filming its premiere season, and we’ve seen shots of Diega Luna in costume on multiple occasions this year. Even if the show finished up filming soon, there’s still extensive post-production to take care of. Plus, Disney has already confirmed we’re looking at a 2022 release date.

When taking to Twitter in a series of announcements from Disney Investor Day, the official Star Wars account shared that Andor will be headed to Disney+ in 2022.

It’s tough to predict what month in 2022 Andor will hit Disney+, though we’re sure it won’t be at the same time the Obi-Wan show comes out. Considering both shows are highly anticipated, it wouldn’t make sense for the streaming service to release them at once. Next year, we’ll also see the premiere of The Mandalorian season 3. It’ll be an even busier time for us Star Wars fans, and we can’t wait to find out more information about the series!

We’ll be sure to update you once we get a confirmed release date for Andor.
