Is Star Wars: The Bad Batch moving to Wednesdays?

We’ve seen just about half of this season of The Bad Batch on Disney+, and it’s been a hallmark of most Star Wars fans’ spring and summer this year.

The series, a spinoff of The Clone Wars, has followed the likes of Clone Force 99 and newbie Omega as they traverse through this new Empire-ruled galaxy. And for each week (aside from the premiere, which dropped on Star Wars Day, May 4), every episode has been released on Fridays. Disney+ has been known for dropping all of its series’ episodes on Fridays. But recently, that’s changed.

It began when Disney+ declared “Wednesdays are the new Fridays” as the Loki series was the first Disney+ original to begin streaming on that day. And now, with the July 2021 schedule out, we see that many more Disney+ originals are beginning to drop on Wednesdays as well.

This move makes sense, seeing as they have so much more original programming now, and they’ll want to space out all of their releases. But this leads us to question if Disney will be making any changes when it comes to its already scheduled programming, including The Bad Batch.

Will The Bad Batch drop on Wednesdays?

While many new Disney+ shows will be released on Wednesdays now, The Bad Batch will not be dropping on Wednesdays. It seems the series will continue to keep its original release day, Friday, all through the series finale.

The July release schedule for Disney+ has The Bad Batch continuing to release on Fridays. And with the two additional episodes that will air in August, we’re sure those final episodes will be released on Friday as well. To see when all the episodes will release, you can check out our Bad Batch release schedule here.

That being said, we could eventually see some Star Wars properties move to Wednesday. If Disney+ feels comfortable moving an MCU show like Loki to the middle of the week, then that means they probably wouldn’t mind sending a Star Wars show to the middle of the week as well.

It all depends on how much original content is running at that time. So in the future, something like The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian or Obi-Wan Kenobi could be a Wednesday release. But we have plenty of time until those come out, so that won’t be of much concern until we get closer to those release dates.
