As time goes on, we’re sure fans are growing more and more excited to see what’s in store for Din Djarin and Grogu in season 3 of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. And while we have shows like The Bad Batch and The Book of Boba Fett to hold us over in the meantime, there’s nothing like The Mandalorian.
Plus, there’s so much more to look forward to thanks to the loose ends left over in season 2. For one, Din Djarin found himself as the rightful ruler of Mandalore after gaining the Darksaber from Moff Gideon in battle. That puts a dent in Bo-Katan’s plan, who wanted to take the Darksaber for herself so she could ascend to the throne and help her planet.
There’s also the new Grogu arc, where he’s now under the care of Luke Skywalker as his new Padawan. And we wonder just how long it will be before Grogu and Mando are united again. So, when can we expect to see all these adventures unfold?
The Mandalorian season 3 release date
Not long ago, Disney+ revealed all of the shows and movies being added in July 2021 and, naturally, The Mandalorian season 3 was not on that list.
It still seems we have quite some time before we get to The Mandalorian season 3, in fact. While we don’t know precisely when the series will air just yet, we are getting more and more clues about when to expect the series.
For example, Pedro Pascal had revealed in June that he hadn’t begun filming yet — while it’s been revealed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has definitely been filming since the spring. That means we can expect Obi-Wan Kenobi to come out before The Mandalorian season 3 — possibly during the same time slot that The Bad Batch began streaming this spring, but for 2022.
This means The Mandalorian season 3 will more than likely have a fall 2022 release date, on par with its two other seasons, which saw a late-fall release. In 2019, it came out in November. And in 2020, it came out in October. So, it will likely be one of those months, which means we still have over a year to wait before the series is out again.
