We’ve seen two seasons of The Mandalorian so far, and we know that there tends to be some surprises when it comes to who will and won’t be in a season of the show.

In season 1, for example, we lost Kuiil (voiced by Nick Nolte), who sacrificed himself nobly to protect Grogu. The same could be said for IG-11 (voiced by Taika Waititi), who also only appeared in season 1. And surprisingly, the Armorer (Emily Swallow) was yet another fan-favorite character who just didn’t return to The Mandalorian in season 2.

And so while we are accustomed to many awesome characters appearing in The Mandalorian  (we did see the return of Bo-Katan, Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, and Luke Skywalker, after all), there are also plenty more characters who may not return again. So, what characters won’t we be seeing in The Mandalorian season 3?

The Mandalorian season 3 cast

The one character who we know for certain won’t be coming back to The Mandalorian for season 3 is Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano. The actress was fired by Lucasfilm after several incidents that transpired online, and as such, it looks like there’s no chance of her coming back anytime soon.

Despite that, it seems like most of the cast is expected to return. Of course, Pedro Pascal will continue to be the lead, Din Djarin. And we should hopefully be seeing the likes of Carl Weathers (Greef Karga) and Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) as well.

Outside of those three, we may be likely to see others from the supporting cast, but it’s not guaranteed. That includes Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan), Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett) and Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand). With Ahsoka getting her own spinoff series, we’re not sure if Rosario Dawson will return in season 3, but we’ll be seeing more of her on Disney+ eventually.

The Mandalorian season 3 won’t be coming out until sometime in 2022. So as more is announced, we’ll keep you updated on The Mandalorian season 3 cast.
