When we left Hunter at the end of The Bad Batch episode 14, his fate remained ambiguous. Crosshair was completely in charge of what would happen, and the rest of Clone Force 99 had no choice but to escape immediate danger and leave him behind.

Episode 15 of The Bad Batch begins almost immediately after the prior episode ends. Here’s what happens to Hunter by the end of the episode.

The rest of this post contains spoilers for The Bad Batch episode 15.

What happened to Hunter in episode 14?

So far, the show has established Hunter as the head of the Bad Batch. While each clone plays an equal role in winning battles or surviving various missions across the galaxy, Hunter’s voice is evenly respected and considered. Losing him has always been the potential catalyst that could break the Batch apart.

So when episode 14 concluded with the Batch’s leader being separated from the rest, it became clear things were about to get serious.

The episode ends with Hunter sending the rest of the Batch off to safety while he surrenders to being taken into Imperial custody. While the group managed to escape into hyperspace, it was implied their next mission would be to return to rescue him.

The Bad Batch comes together again

As the season 1 finale of The Bad Batch approached, many wondered whether it would end with a standoff between Crosshair and the rest of the enhanced clones. Many predicted, at the very least, that we would see Hunter, Crosshair, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, and Omega together again. And that’s exactly what happened.

Omega has never had a difficult time convincing her brothers they’re meant to help people. No one was going to refuse the opportunity to help the one person closest to them.

The Bad Batch episode 15: What happened to Hunter?

Crosshair, knowing the rest of the Batch will arrive to try rescuing one of their own, leads Hunter to the very training room we found them in back in Episode 1. Hunter tries to convince Crosshair they can get his inhibitor chip removed before realizing Crosshair is acting of his own accord, not in response to the chip.

The group is forced to fight off a group of droids Omega activated to try to save the Batch, but Crosshair still insists the Empire is on the right side.

Hunter shoots Crosshair with a stun blast and, along with Omega and the rest of his brothers, makes an attempt to escape the cloning facility before things get much, much worse.

We will find out how Hunter’s story continues in Part 2 of the season 1 finale next week.
