The Andor series is just one step closer to being complete and ready for viewers to see, at least that’s according to one new report that’s out this week.

This comes from the Bespin Bulletin, which reports that filming for Andor has finally wrapped after many months since they first began filming. Filming has reportedly wrapped for all parties involved. This includes Diego Luna himself, who plays the titular character, Cassian Andor.

We got our first glimpse of Andor during the Disney Investor’s Day presentation back in December, in which they had a sizzle reel prepared that went behind the scenes on the set of the television series. When that was released, filming had only been about a month in. It was delayed from the alleged June 2020 start date that got pushed back when the pandemic began.

When will the Andor series premiere?

Now that filming is done, this gives us a better idea of when the series will come out. Naturally, we should be looking at a 2022 release date. Something coming by the end of this year seems completely out of the question, especially given the fact that Star Wars: Visions and The Book of Boba Fett are already slated to close out the rest of this year.

When in 2022 this will premiere, though, is unknown. Right now, it’s got a lot of competition internally. Between Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Bad Batch season 2 and The Mandalorian season 3, there is a lot of Star Wars TV that Disney+ is going to have on its plate. So whatever the case, it’s likely that in 2022, Star Wars will be just like is Marvel this year — having projects premiere back to back with very little time in between each one.

The series is also said to be 12 episodes, which is 12 weeks of content — aka, a three-month timespan in which the series will air. Needless to say, at the very least, we could expect to see either Andor or Obi-Wan Kenobi up first in 2022 since they’ve both reportedly wrapped filming around the same time. But no matter what, this is all good news to see that the new Star Wars TV shows are moving along, and they’ll be here in the blink of an eye!
