When will a trailer for The Book of Boba Fett come out?

We’re only a few months away from the next live-action Star Wars television show that’s set to grace Disney+, The Book of Boba Fett. And as we draw nearer to the premiere, fans are likely to begin wondering when a trailer will come.

Just to note, The Book of Boba Fett still doesn’t have an official release date. As we’ve known since last year — at the very least — it’s set to come out around the holiday season this December. So we could be looking at anything from Dec. 15 and onward, most likely. And it’s possible that when we get a trailer, it will tell us the exact day that the series will debut.

Looking back at the show it was spun off from, The Mandalorian, the season 2 trailer was released on Sept. 15, 2020. The show later premiered on Oct. 30, 2020. That’s about a month and a half between the trailer and the premiere. Let’s also look at The Bad Batch as another example. Its first trailer was released on March 30 this year, and the show had its premiere on Star Wars Day, May 4 — making it about a five-week gap between the trailer and the series premiere. So, what does that tell us about The Book of Boba Fett?

Given what we know about the trailers for Star Wars’ last two projects, it looks like we can expect the trailer for The Book of Boba Fett to release about five to six weeks before the premiere of the actual series.

Of course, not having a solid premiere date for The Book of Boba Fett makes this tricky. But knowing it’ll be out in December of 2021 helps, so we can at least get a range for when to expect a trailer. If the trailer were to come out in mid-December, then the first week of November could be when a trailer drops. If it’s a little more towards the holidays, then we could expect a trailer to come out around the second week of November.

That last date is perfect, too, because it’s when Disney plans to hold its Disney+ Day celebration. On Nov. 12 of this year, Disney will basically have a Disney Investors Day presentation 2.0 where we can expect them to go all out on showcasing the upcoming projects for the streaming service. So, what better time to release a Book of Boba Fett trailer than during the Lucasfilm showcase for that day?

Still, it could be possible that we get a trailer earlier than that — perhaps in the form of a teaser. But we know Lucasfilm will want to keep things as close to them as they can until the series premiere.
