What is LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales about?

Halloween is creeping closer and Disney+ has a treat for Star Wars fans that’ll drop at the top of the spookiest season of the year. A LEGO Star Wars special is coming to the streamer to kick off their second annual Hallowstream celebration and it’s called LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales.

The movie will see the return of Poe Dameron in a story that takes place after the events of The Rise of the Skywalker. As is typical with the LEGO movie franchise, fans of this universe can expect things to go humorously awry starting with Poe and BB-8’s emergency landing on Mustafar.

The planet is home to Darth Vader’s castle which is undergoing renovations with the goal of turning the building into a luxury hotel inspired by the Sith. While there, the two will be regaled with three separate stories meant to send chills up Poe’s spine and through BB-8’s circuits.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales also stars Graballa the Hutt, Vaneé, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Ren, NI-L8, and Dean (a new character who serves as Graballa’s mechanic).

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales synopsis

The official synopsis via Disney+:

"After the events of The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and BB-8 must make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt who has purchased Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel.While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé.Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges.With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends."

As reported by Dork Side of the Force, the three tales will be focused on the following:

• A Clone Wars-era story centered on Darth Maul’s return and featuring Mother Talzin and the Nightsisters.
• A re-imagining of the original trilogy where Luke Skywalker joins the Empire and is a TIE fighter pilot.
• The Knights of Ren and Ben Solo’s cross into the Dark Side.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales release date

The LEGO Star Wars Halloween special will premiere Friday, Oct. 1 on Disney+ at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET.
