Special look at Boba Fett and more announced for Disney+ Day
If you want more Star Wars in your life, then the announcement of Disney+ Day is exactly what we’re looking for, especially if you’re wanting to find out more about The Book of Boba Fett.
On Tuesday, Disney announced a monumental list of things to come on Nov. 12, Disney+ Day. And among those things listed is a “Star Wars Special Look.” In a press release, Disney also noted there’ll be “a special celebrating the origins and legacy of Star Wars’ legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett.”
With the scheduled release of The Book of Boba Fett in December of this year, it’s no wonder that this special will take a deep dive into the famed bounty hunter. Although I’ve never had strong feelings about the skills associated with such a beloved character during the original trilogy, the second season of The Mandalorian opened my eyes to how capable Boba Fett is and how that might translate in a self-titled series.

What to expect from Disney+ Day
Beyond the final scene in the last episode of The Mandalorian, there isn’t a lot of information on what’s to come of Boba Fett. Played by Temuera Morrison, with Fennec Shand played by Ming-Na Wen, Fett blasts his way to take the throne of Jabba the Hutt in those final season 2 moments.
Does this “Special Look” guide fans toward what they can expect in an original series on Disney+? Will we get a trailer and official release date? With an extensive lineup for Disney+ Day, including big releases of Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, Jungle Cruise, a Marvel special look and more, it seems apparent to have high expectations on what’s to come.
Will we finally learn the name of Boba Fett’s ship for his new series? After previously wondering whether his ship would be called Slave I, or have the ship’s classification of Firespray be its namesake, it would make sense for The Book of Boba Fett to emphasize its lead character with a titled ship. Regardless of what name it finally lands on, finding out what Fett’s ship is called for the series would make for an interesting announcement during a Star Wars Special on Disney+ Day. After all, Fett highlighted his piloting skills in The Mandalorian season 2 and it’s safe to expect more of those flight sequences appearing in the upcoming series.
Despite Boba Fett never being an impactful character for me, the role portrayed by Morrison in The Mandalorian, along with Wen’s amazing Fennec Shand, has me excited about the possibilities of discovering more on Disney+ Day. Although IMDb currently has a discrepancy of episode appearance by Morrison and Wen, seven compared to two, it would seem that these two characters would be the most important figures moving forward, especially with their bond and end-sequence where they both take control of Jabba’s syndicate. I look forward to discovering during this special how they decide to come to this power while moving along their own unique storyline where Fett reigns supreme. After what I saw in season 2 of The Mandalorian, I would expect nothing less.
