Many people are delighted that spooky season is upon us. And as we look to October 2021, we know to expect nothing but frights, spooks, and happy haunts all through the month.

Yes, we’re approaching Halloween. And practically all streaming services and television networks are rolling out their new (and old) Halloween content. Luckily, if you’re the type of person who enjoys the vibe of Halloween but maybe not so much the scary stuff that comes with it, Disney+ has you covered. Because there’s an ample amount of sort-of spooky stuff coming to the streaming platform, as well as some things that are completely unrelated to Halloween altogether.

So, here are five things you should watch on Disney+ this October.

Disney+ October 2021 shows and movies

1. LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales

LEGO Star Wars is back on Friday, Oct. 1 with a brand new special. Last year, they released the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. And this year, they’re here to celebrate Halloween. Follow along with Poe Dameron, who enters a strange resort and gets told creepy tales from the “Dark Side.” Star Wars history takes a different, Dark Side turn in these tales, and you won’t want to miss it!

2. What If…? finale

On Wednesday, Oct. 6, Marvel Studios’ What If…? concludes with episode 9. While each episode presented itself as a standalone thus far, making us think this is an anthology series, we may have to think again. Our alternate-universe Avengers may have to come together to stave off a threat bigger than they could ever imagine. Then, on Wed. Oct. 27, Disney+ premieres Marvel Studios: Assembled’s “The Making of What If…?

3. Muppets Haunted Mansion

If you’re looking for more lighter Halloween fare this season, the Muppets have you covered. On Friday, Oct. 8, Muppets Haunted Mansion hits the platform. In it, Gonzo the Great visits the home with 999 happy haunts… but there’s room for a thousand. This playful take on the Haunted Mansion ride at the Disney Parks is also filled with tons of celebrity cameos, so it’s bound to be a fun one.

4. Black Widow

Marvel’s Black Widow finally arrives on Disney+ for subscribers on Wed. Oct. 6. If you haven’t seen Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff in this solo film just yet, finally, you’ll have that opportunity without paying the Disney Premier Access fee. After that, on Oct. 20, Marvel Studios: Assembled debuts “The Making of Black Widow.

5. Just Beyond

Okay, here’s one more spooky suggestion for all the Halloween fans out there. If you love  R.L. Stine’s writing — and we know many people are a fan of Goosebumps — then let Just Beyond be the spooky, spiritual successor to that. This eight-episode anthology series releases on Disney+ on Wednesday, Oct. 13, and each episode features a new cast that encounters all the creeps and haunts imaginable — from ghosts to witches and everything in between.
