Without a doubt, 2022 is going to be a big year for Star Wars live-action television. The year will include the continuation of The Book of Boba Fett. Later, Andor will premiere on Disney+ as well. Then we’ve got The Mandalorian season 3. And, of course, there will be the return of the king in the Obi-Wan Kenobi solo series.

Production for the work began earlier this year in the spring, and now it’s officially wrapped. That’s according to Ewan McGregor himself, who revealed that at last month’s Emmy awards. And while we know the series is for sure coming out next year, what remains to be seen is when exactly the series will come out.

Now, according to one new rumor, we may know exactly when the series will premiere. As always, we take all rumors with a grain of salt, but it’s interesting to get some speculation about when the series could arrive.

When is Obi-Wan Kenobi coming out?

According to Jordan Maison of Cinelinx (via The Direct), the series could be coming out in May 2022. In a tweet posted on Monday, he wrote: “I’ve heard a lot of stuff to make me believe #Kenobi is dropping…” and he included a gif of the Justin Timberlake “It’s gonna be May” meme to signal that the series should be set to come out in May.

So, a May date isn’t all too unbelievable. This year, the series Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered during that month — right on Star Wars Day, May 4. And if Disney+ is looking to do the same thing next year, May 4 would be the perfect day for the series to premiere.

May 4 is on a Wednesday in 2022 after all, so there’s got to be a 90 percent chance that something new from Star Wars will release on that day.

Otherwise, there hasn’t been much else to go on aside from this latest rumor, so we’ll just have to keep a close eye on things for now. It’s also unclear where the other shows will fit into their calendar for next year. It will likely be a sure bet that The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere at the end of next year. So that leaves the remaining series (Andor, Obi-Wan and The Bad Batch season 2) time to premiere anytime during the middle of the year.
