Will there be a LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales sequel?
By Sabrina Reed
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales landed on Disney+ at the start of October ushering in a wave of Halloween spirit for young fans of the franchise. While Star Wars is no stranger to a holiday special this is the first chilling and thrilling one of its kind.
Josh Rimes of Lucasfilm told StarWars.com that he hopes the special becomes a tradition for families, a must-watch in October as we head deeper into fall.
"This is very special for us. We hope this becomes a perennial event on Disney+, where families can get together every Halloween and watch this."
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales does have the chops to become a holiday classic from its humor that’ll have the kids laughing as they watch to its horror references that’ll keep adults entertained, too, as they click onto its homages and nods to well-loved movies in the genre.
There are also its lessons to factor in as well considering the film isn’t purely entertainment, it also carries with it a message about bravery in the face of fear and a warning about greed coupled with a corrupting desire for power.
But, given how the special ends, the question of whether the film will have a sequel hangs in the air. Here’s what we know!
Is LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales 2 happening?
Spoilers ahead of Terrifying Tales.
Currently, no plans for a sequel have been announced, however, Vaneé’s parting shot is of his hand shooting out of the lava in front of NI-L8. It was a great villain moment at the end of LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales that could open the door to a sequel if one is greenlit by Disney+.
While the ending of the movie does work with Vaneé being a threat that hasn’t truly been vanquished, it does have us wondering where the story could go next and what other lessons can be mined from a Terrifying Tales sequel come next Halloween season.
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for news on a second movie in this universe. Stay tuned to Dork Side of the Force for more LEGO Star Wars news and coverage!
