To help launch Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience next year, Marvel will debut a five-issue mini-series spanning the entire length of the saga — from The High Republic to the era of the First Order and the Resistance.

The comic series, Star Wars: Halcyon Legacy, tells the story of the “greatest of all star cruisers” during various points in the Star Wars timeline, eventually leading to the “present-day” with passengers embarking on immersive space vacations via Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World. In the comic’s reveal, StarWars.com said the first issue will feature High Republic Jedi Nib Assek and her Wookiee padawan Burryaga, and later fan-favorite characters Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka will team up for the first time in one story and.

The comic series is written by Ethan Sacks with art by Will Sliney, who were both on the creative team behind the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge mini-series that ran ahead of the land’s opening in Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida. In an interview with StarWars.com, Sacks said reuniting with Sliney for another Galaxy’s Edge tie-in series is “an incredible honor.”

"“I promise we’ll bake that joy into every page of every issue as we take you on a journey across 275 years of epic adventures, from the High Republic through the time of the First Order. You’re going to enjoy this ride,” he said."

The first issue of Halcyon Legacy arrives next year with a cover featuring the beloved Burryaga a.k.a. Burry alongside the Starcruiser Halcyon. In a teaser, StarWars.com said the first issue shows the space cruise ship is confronted by the First Order. To escape the First Order’s clutches, the passengers and crew look all the way back to secrets from the High Republic era, including a tale about Jedis Nib and Burry fighting a Nihil attack during one of the earliest Halcyon voyages.

Galactic Starcruiser voyages taking off soon

The Galactic Starcruiser is Disney World’s next venture into even more immersive storytelling and experiences for its guests. Opening in March 2022, the Starcruiser Halcyon experience is a two-night stay aboard a luxury spaceship set in the Star Wars universe between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. The vacation experience isn’t just a hotel stay — it’s as close to being in Star Wars most will ever get.

The Starcruiser is built to look and feel like an actual adventure in the galaxy far, far away without ever actually leaving planet Earth. Cabins and suites have views of space and unique itineraries will immerse you in all things Star Wars — from lightsaber building and indulging in galactic cuisine to doing an excursion to Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu.

A sample itinerary has you learning Sabacc and getting tours of the ship on day one, and venturing to Black Spire Outpost, racing droids and learning lightsaber training on day two. Of course, the stay also includes “story moments” where you can choose secret missions with the Resistance, the First Order or even the smugglers as you interact with unique characters and crew aboard the Starcruiser.
