On Dec. 29, the brand new Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+. But ahead of the upcoming series, Disney+ will be releasing a new documentary on the legacy of Boba Fett. And we got a quick glimpse at that today in a new preview from the company.

This, actually, is what we think is a preview of a preview. Originally, Disney revealed that there would be a celebration on the streaming service’s anniversary, Nov. 12. And with that, we’d be getting a special look at some upcoming projects, including the Boba Fett documentary.

Now, we may still be getting a preview of that documentary on Nov. 12 (aka, Disney+ Day). But it turns out, the full documentary will end up dropping on Disney+ that same day anyway. So you’d think there’s not much need for them to preview it if it’s coming out that same day.

Regardless, we learned today the documentary special is called Under The Helmet: The Legacy Of Boba Fett, and Disney provided a brief, general synopsis of it today:

"An all-new, documentary special that celebrates the origins and legacy of Star Wars’ legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett."

In addition to that, you can see a few scenes from the documentary itself in this promo below for the Disney+ Day releases. This includes looks at other properties releasing on Disney+ that day, such as Shang-Chi and Jungle Cruise.

More to be announced?

With that in mind, we think there’s a lot more that Disney isn’t showing us in this preview about Disney+ Day. This clip is only for the upcoming releases that will be dropping on the streaming platform that day. But we think it’s just scratching the surface compared to what’s going to be revealed.

We’re hoping the company will showcase more about what viewers can expect from upcoming projects this year and next year. That, of course, would include The Book of Boba Fett as well as Andor and even Obi-Wan Kenobi. And outside of Star Wars, we’d expect Disney to make a few announcements about upcoming projects from Marvel Studios as well, seeing as they also have a lot in the pipeline.

So, hopefully, the first-annual Disney+ Day won’t disappoint. We pretty much know everything in the pipeline for Star Wars as is. But this would be the perfect time for them to start releasing some first-looks, release dates, and any other surprises they have up their sleeves.
