There is now a whole handful of Star Wars shows on the horizon, including one focused on a character that originated in animation and has since transitioned into live-action form thanks to The Mandalorian. Ahsoka Tano getting her own show isn’t all that surprising, but the more we learn about the series, the longer the wait feels.

Recently it was reported that Hayden Christensen would reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the series, though how and how much, we still aren’t sure. That would make Ahsoka the second Disney+ Star Wars series featuring the actor in his original role since he’s already set to appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi starting sometime in 2022.

In addition to Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Ahsoka as seen in The Mandalorian season 2, there are rumors that even more characters are joining the growing cast list.

According to The Illuminerdi, there might be a new character (not Anakin!) joining the series. Based on a brief description of the newcomer, it could be anyone, either someone we’ve never met or someone we’ve been waiting to see again for a long, long time, if the name is just a placeholder to keep the true identity under wraps. The description reads:

"Riz is described as a bit of a lone wolf, world-wise despite his young age and able to handle anything life throws his way."

This doesn’t reveal much about who “Riz” really is, since there are plenty of Star Wars characters who are young, wise, lonely, and driven to survive. But so many characters that have originated in fan-favorite shows have become favorites themselves, including Ahsoka, Ezra Bridger, Omega, and so many more.

Perhaps this mystery character should be built from the ground up instead of turning out to be someone we already know. While there’s nothing wrong with familiar characters making guest appearances on other shows, we’re already getting an entire series focused on Ahsoka. Give us new hearts to fall in love with.

After all, it wouldn’t be the first time a young character stole the hearts of millions of fans, nearly started his own merchandise empire, and bonded with a Force-sensitive Togruta on-screen.
