With the upcoming series The Book of Boba Fett arriving on Disney+ on Dec. 29, there’s renewed interest in the iconic character as he is at last set to star in his own series.
Fans were first enraptured with the character more than 40 years ago when Boba Fett made his first big-screen appearance in The Empire Strikes Back as a quiet and mysterious bounty hunter aiding Darth Vader’s search and capture of the smuggler Han Solo.
While he was far from a central character, Boba Fett’s mystery added to his intrigue for many fans, starting a decades-long following for the bounty hunter.
As the Star Wars canon has expanded, so has the backstory for Boba Fett’s character. Though he had minimal screen time in the original trilogy, as the fan fervor for the character grew throughout the years, so did more history for the character in the extended universe through comics and video games.
