The Book of Boba Fett may answer some of Star Wars fans’ key questions
By Ben Winnell
After being “dead” since the 2014 canon reset, Boba Fett has jetpacked his way back into the Star Wars universe in major style. Temuera Morrison recently revealed The Book of Boba Fett will fill “a lot of gaps” according to CBR.
Having made his grand return to the live action world in Season 2 of The Mandalorian (and also Season 1 technically), the galaxy’s most feared bounty hunter is due to debut with his own show, The Book of Boba Fett coming to Disney + on December 29.
The show will take place in roughly the same time period as The Mandalorian, approximately 5 years after the end of Return of the Jedi. This was of course where Fett met his apparent end in the 1983 film. He remained deceased for nearly a decade before making his grand resurrection in the Expanded Universe comic Dark Empire in 1992.
The galaxy’s greatest bounty hunter is back… but how?
While the story of his unlikely escape from the Sarlacc pit is covered in the old canon; details are scant on how the clone Mandalorian managed to survive this time around. It’s possible that the tale may be recounted in Fett’s upcoming show as his fall into the Great Pit of Carkoon is now heavily codified into the bounty hunter’s legend and fans old and new would love to see the action for themselves.
Also on the agenda is what Fett will be up to on Tatooine. Having taken control of his former employer Jabba the Hutt’s palace, what does the bounty hunter plan on doing with it? A criminal empire of his own, or something more nuanced? We may find out in mere weeks.
But let’s face it… the real question is whether Fett and Djarin visited an arts and crafts store after retreating his armor… or was the Razor Crest fully stocked with paints and pastels? Either way, Fett is an artist with both blaster and brush.
