We’re moving along on the premiere season of The Book of Boba Fett, and though not every episode so far has been as strong as fans had hopes, this week is more of a game-changer for the series as it puts a big focus on fan-favorite character Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).

As fans will remember from The Mandalorian, Fennec is shot and left for dead out in Tatoonie, and it’s later revealed that Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) was the one to find her and save her. The two team up and become the power duo we know them as today, appearing together at the end of The Mandalorian season 2 and in every episode of The Book of Boba Fett.

When this week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett, “The Gathering Storm,” opens up, we see Boba Fett trying to save Fennec after she’s shot, taking her to an awesome cyber-punk spot where a man is working on people. It gives the energy of a tattoo artist in a tattoo parlor, but as we see, the man is modifying bodies to fix and save them.

It quickly becomes apparently this man will be able to save Fennec Shand — and thank goodness. The stakes aren’t too high for us here because this is a flashback and we know Fennec is eventually saved, but we don’t want to see her suffer nevertheless!

Thundercat makes appearance in The Book of Boba Fett

The scene itself is really fun, complete with some groovy music. But what really got fans at home excited is when they realized the actor playing the mod guy is actually musician Thundercat! Someone quickly shared some screenshots to Twitter to celebrate the cameo, which you can see below.

And though some have questioned whether or not that really is Thundercat and not just someone paying an homage to him, the credits at the end of the episode confirm it’s the artist. His full name, Stephen “Thundercat” Brunner, is credited 44:34 minutes in.

The 37-year-old musician is a Grammy Award winner, known for his talents as a bassist and singer. At the time of this article, he has four studio albums that have won awards and critical acclaim. Though we haven’t heard him talk about Star Wars before, it’s safe to assume he’s a fan.

The Book of Boba Fett has featured several cameos so far, including Danny Trejo, Matt Berry and Yellowjackets star Sophie Thatcher. We can definitely expect to see a handful more throughout the rest of the first season run.

“The Gathering Storm” might be the best episode of The Book of Boba Fett yet, and I can’t wait to see what happens next week! Don’t miss new episodes when they debut every Wednesday morning on Disney+.
