The Book of Boba Fett actor Tumeura Morrison is convinced Mace Windu could still be alive, according to a recent interview with IMDb on the Scene.
Ever since Revenge of the Sith, and Mace Windu’s death, there have been a certain number of fans who wanted to think that Mace Windu could survive. Originally, back in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith came out, fewer people had come back out from the dead.
As time went on however a few more people came back from many circumstances, and the support of these theories grew. Now their ranks have been joined by Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison, who has joined the ranks of the supporters.
In 2005, we thought that Darth Maul was dead as a doornail because how could someone possibly survive being cut in half, and fall hundreds of stories. But with George Lucas’s support, we have seen that the Force can perform miracles. So if Darth Maul can rise again, who can’t Mace Windu? Both are strong with the force, and Mace ‘only’ lost one arm and fell a great distance. These conditions, while seemingly impossible, seem quite similar to what happened to Luke Skywalker whenever he fought Darth Vader in Cloud City.
So Mace’s survival certainly seems plausible in the Star Wars universe but why is Temuera Morrison’s support so interesting? Well technically Mace Windu killed Temuera Morrison as Jango Fett, and Boba Fett attempted to kill Mace Windu several times during Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As Temuera’s first response he said that “I owe him big time for my dad” as a reference to him being Jango Fett. Temuera even said that Mace would be at the “top of the list.”
This comment led to the interesting suggestion that there could be a season 2 of The Book of Boba Fett where Boba hunts down Mace Windu.
As interesting as that would be, there has been no official word on any season 2 of The Book of Boba Fett. This theory will stay a theory for now, but maybe with the support of Boba Fett himself, we can see Samuel L. Jackson suits up again as Mace Windu.
