Ever since the finale of The Book of Boba Fett, Star Wars fans have been wondering if the Disney+ series will get a second season. While there doesn’t seem to be anything in the works, people want answers — and many mistook one of the shows’ stars’ comments to mean we’d be seeing more of the show.
Ming-Na Wen took to Twitter to clarify that referring to the first season of The Book of Boba Fett didn’t mean she was confirming there would be another season. “Everyone jumped to conclusions when I called it the first season,” the actor tweeted. “What else would I call it?”
She hopes, however, that we will see more of these characters in some form eventually. “To clarify, it doesn’t imply there’s a 2nd ,” she clarified. “But I’m keeping my fingers crossed!”
Wen isn’t the only reason fans are questioning whether or not there will be another season of the series. Disney+ called “Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor” a “season finale” instead of a series finale right on its own platform. Even if it didn’t intend to imply there could be another season, it was easy to assume this might be the case.
While there is no guarantee — or any hint of official confirmation — that Book of Boba Fett will have a second season, there is plenty of Star Wars TV to look forward to even if more of this particular series is in the works. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series premieres May 25, and Star Wars: Andor as well as Season 2 of The Bad Batch have also been confirmed for release on Disney+ in 2022.
The Mandalorian will eventually get a Season 3, but we’re still not sure exactly when that will drop. Some speculate very late in 2022, but nothing has been officially announced.
Season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett is streaming now exclusively on Disney+.
