Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to in 2022. From live-action shows like Kenobi, and animated shows such as Bad Batch the agenda is full. We have even seen Ashoka Tano in the previous project The Book of Boba Fett. With #rebelsremembered day happening yesterday, the question of what happened to Ezra Bridger and Thrawn weighs heavily on my mind. Now with the possibility of an Ahsoka movie starring Rosario Dawson, we may get to see even more important figures in live-action.
The Ahsoka series is likely to be finishing several different levels over stories lines that came from Star Wars: Rebels. The idea of finding Thrawn in the unknown regions could be separate from finding Ezra Bridger. The Ahsoka miniseries could simply be serving as a preface to getting the wider Star Wars audience the details about Ahsoka’s (and Sabine’s) journey. In fact, the report saying that there will be an Ahsoka series almost raises more questions than answers.
An exclusive report from The Giant Freakin Robot claims that the movie is currently in development. Unfortunately, this is far from a confirmed idea. The source could be incorrect, or the movie itself could never get enough support. Such a movie would be another of the animated movie’s characters coming to live-action. With the appearances of characters such as Cad Bane becoming more and more frequent, it certainly seems like the complete integration of the series is the objective.
This integration of the live-action and the animated series is a positive trend for Star Wars. If the rumor about the Ahsoka series is true, then the circle will come full turn. An animated series character will go from animated TV to live-action TV, to a live-action movie. For now, we will have to wait for more details, cross our fingers, and hope for a detailed press release on the movie.
