Over the 45 years since Star Wars began, the franchise has been nominated for dozens of awards of all kinds. Its movies and shows have been highly priased for their visual and special effects, music, and so much more. Less often highlighted are the experiences Star Wars fans have on the franchise’s official website and app — platforms that are created, run, and maintained by professional creators working behind-the-scenes to keep the fan community informed and entertained. The Webby Awards, built to recognize such efforts, are changing that for the better.

Both StarWars.com and the official Star Wars app have been nominated for Webby awards this year, and it’s up to the fans to make sure those nominations become wins!

The Webby Awards began in 1996 back when the internet was still new and tremendously evolving. Run by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the Webbies seek to give recognition to the various aspects of the internet that make it great, from entertainment to web design and more.

This year, the official Star Wars website was nominated in the Websites and Mobile Sites – Television, Film & Streaming category, alongside the likes of HBO Max and SHOWTIME.

Additionally, the Star Wars App received a nomination in the Apps and Software – Entertainment category alongside the Marvel Unliminted app and discovery+.

Every year, the People’s Voice Webby Awards celebrates “the best of the intenret,” highlighting websites, projects, creators and more in categories such as Video, Social Media, Podcasts, Games, and more. Each category includes sub-categoires as well. StarWars.com is nominated in the Websites and Mobile Sites — Television, Film & Streaming, for example, but this broader category also includes Best Homepage, Best Company, Best User Interface, and more.

Voting is open until Thursday, April 21. Cast your votes for the People’s Voice Webby Awards in a variety of categories and show the people behind your favorite Star Wars desktop and mobile experiences how much they mean to you!
