Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd are heading to Star Wars Celebration
By Meg Dowell
We’re just over a month away from Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022, and this year’s panels are going to be packed with celebrities. But your favorite Star Wars actors and creators aren’t just going to sit and stand on stages. Some of them have spots open for photos and autographs as well for your chance to meet the people behind your favorite characters in person.
Two new guests were announced for the convention this week: Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico) and Billie Lourd (Connix). Both women have been away from a galaxy far, far away for the most part since the sequel trilogy ended, but fans are excited to welcome them back.
Kelly Marie Tran hasn’t been involved in any Star Wars projects since the sequel trilogy and her voice role in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. However, she landed a starring role in Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, and has been nominated for various awards for her on-screen work.
Lourd is widely known as Carrie Fisher’s daughter, but has embarked on an acting career all her own with roles outside of Star Wars. She’s also a mom now, too!
Lourd and Tran will be joined by other familiar faces and voices at this year’s event, including Ashley Eckstein and Ian McDiarmid, Katee Sackhoff and Emily Swallow, and many more. Many of these celebrities will be available at the event for photo ops and autographs, which you can order and reserve on the official Celebration website.
Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 takes place from May 26 to May 29 with more guests, panels and more to be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. Stay tuned for more coverage before and during the convention.
