Before Disney bought Lucasfilm, Star Wars comics were published and distributed by the companies Dark Horse and Marvel. But since the Disney acquisition of Star Wars, Marvel and IDW took over the comic runs, developing plenty of new stories set in a galaxy far far away.

However, it was announced last year that Dark Horse would be returning to the world of Star Wars comics in place of IDW, ready to once again tell more stories about our favorite characters. And yesterday the first two series from Dark Horse were announced.

Beginning this summer Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories will be a new anthology comic series that features fan-favorite heroes and villains across every Star Wars era. The stories will be written by  Cecil Castelluci, Michael Moreci, and Amanda Deiber. Issue #1 starts things off with a story set during the Clone Wars. “When members of a Republic mission led by Senator Padmé Amidala are abducted by the ruthless Separatist General Grievous, Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi leap to the rescue. But the operation quickly goes awry…” says StarWars.com.

But that’s not all. Starting this fall Star Wars: Tales from the Rancor Pit will debut some spooky stories just in time for Halloween. Written by Star Wars comic veteran Cavan Scott, according to StarWars.com tales will be, “Set amid a backdrop of a dark and stormy night on Tatooine in the dungeon of Jabba the Hutt, the creepy offering includes clanking droid ghosts, the chilling wampa caves of Hoth, and a monster hunt with Saber-For-Hire Ty Yorrick. ” And this is certainly only the beginning for Dark Horse, we can be sure of plenty more stories on the horizon.
