The Book of Boba Fett has ended on Disney+ which means we’re now entering a Star Wars series drought for a little while. Obi-Wan Kenobi will make its premiere on May 25, so it won’t be too long of a wait for more content, but we also have our minds on Andor.

The 12 episode series, which is rumored to already be greenlit for a second season, returns fans to Cassian’s side. Rogue One wasn’t the end of his story, thankfully. Or at least it wasn’t in terms of how much more this franchise can delve into the rebel spy’s life.

Filming on Andor has wrapped, so the show is currently in post-production. When the series premieres will be dependent on Disney+’s calendar. But, at least we do have some information on the show and what to expect.

Here’s what we know!

Does Andor have a release date?

Andor will release on Disney Plus on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022. The news was confirmed with the release of the official trailer for the series meaning the series will arrive only weeks after Obi-Wan Kenobi wraps and ahead of the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian, which has not yet been given a release date

Andor cast

Here’s the cast as we know it so far. The majority of the roles have been left undisclosed.

  • Diego Luna as Cassian Andor
  • Stellan Skarsgård
  • Adria Arjona
  • Denise Gough
  • Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma
  • Fiona Shaw
  • Robert Emms
  • Kyle Soller
  • Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera

Andor synopsis

The official synopsis via Disney+:

"Andor, a tense nail-biting spy thriller created by Tony Gilroy, is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2022. Diego Luna, reprising the role of rebel spy Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be joined by a fantastic new cast that includes Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma."

Obviously, the above synopsis doesn’t give much away so we expect a more plot detailed synopsis to be released as we get closer to the show’s premiere.
