Even though Obi-Wan Kenobi has brought back plenty of familiar Star Wars characters to our small screens — everyone from Obi-Wan to Leia Organa to Owen Lars and Luke Skywalker — the series has done a lot of heavy lifting in terms of introducing new, high-quality characters into the universe. Inquisitor Reva is one of these characters, and it would be a shame if Kenobi‘s finale were the end of her story.

Reva seems relatively young in the series compared to her fellow Inquisitors, but Star Wars fans aren’t sure of her exact age. We might be able to come up with a ballpark answer based on other characters and events in the show, however.

Inquisitor Reva (Third Sister) was once a Jedi Youngling before the Order fell at the hands of the Galactic Republic during Order 66. The Great Jedi Purge began with a siege on the Jedi Temple, led by Darth Vader. Reva watched her fellow younglings fall during the attack, and hid with their bodies, playing dead until the immediate threat had passed.

At some point between then and the present, Reva joined the Inquisitorius, but not necessarily with the goal to have major power in the galaxy. She wanted to avenge her fallen friends, the closest beings she’d ever had to family, and she knew who Darth Vader was. The closer she got to him, the more chance she thought she had at earning her revenge.

Her quest to hunt down and capture Obi-Wan Kenobi failed on multiple occasions, but she survived being stabbed with a lightsaber. Her anger and her hunger for revenge seemingly kept her alive.

Going by Moses Ingram’s age (28) doesn’t help much, since actors play characters much older and younger than themselves quite often (did you really think all the shows you used to watch starring “teens” were really all played by teens IRL?). But there are a few clues as to how old her character could be in-universe.

While Wookieepedia does not list an official age for Reva in its database, it does describe a youngling as any species of child age. In the real world, we consider a child as anyone betwen the stages of infancy or puberty. Going by that guideline, Reva couldn’t have been older than 11 or 12 during the Purge. However, how young she could have been depends on the Jedi’s definition of a youngling.

The Jedi usually consider their younglings to be too young to be assigned to one master, which changes once they become a Padawan, but old enough to undergo basic Temple training. Many fans have assumed Reva therefore couldn’t have been much younger than 8. But let’s not forget we have two 10-year-old characters in the show to compare young Reva to.

Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) and Luke (Grant Feely) are both 10 at the time Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place. If you look at young Reva in flashbacks, she looks to be around the same age, but could be slightly (not significantly) younger or older. And since the series takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, it can be assumed Reva is anywhere between 18 and 21 now.

Until we get more stories surrounding Reva, we may never know exactly how old she is. But guessing is OK. This is all fictional, anyway, and no matter her age, Reva continues to be one of the greatest villains of modern Star Wars storytelling.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor with appearances by Hayden Christensen and Kumail Nanjiani and is directed by Deborah Chow, who previously directed an episode of The Mandalorian. The series is streaming now exclusively on Disney+.
