LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation is almost here — see the teaser trailer
By Meg Dowell
Over the past few years, the launch of Disney+ has opened the door for Star Wars to make several highly successful LEGO specials. LEGO Star Wars: The Holiday Special released on “Life Day” in 2020, featuring a variety of familiar characters as they celebrated the holidays together.
The delightful chaos continued with LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales in 2021, a spooky Halloween special that took viewers to Vader’s castle on Musfafar for a fun, scary adventure. The series of specials will continue this year with LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation, which is set to release this August.
According to the short teaser trailer released last week, this special will once again feature some of Star Wars fans’ favorite characters, this time on an adventure unlike anything we’ve seen before. The special will also welcome the return of the familiar humor LEGO Star Wars has become known for both in its shows and video games. Basically, whether or not the story is considered “canon,” it would be silly not to tag along for the ride.
This special is the first of a borderline overwhelming number of Star Wars shows releasing in the back half of 2022, joining premieres like Andor and Tales of the Jedi as well as the debut of The Bad Batch Season 2. That’s a lot of Star Wars in just a few short months. But judging by the footage and trailers we’ve seen so far, it’s all going to be worth it.
The first full trailer for the LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation special will drop soon, so keep an eye out for even more info about what’s likely to be the most fun thing you watch all summer.
LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation will premiere on August 5 exclusively on Disney+, with its first official trailer debuting tomorrow, June 21.
