In an unlikely twist of events, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga continues to be the gift that keeps on giving. TT Games announced that a second Character Collection is on the way, including a new version of the game, during this past weekend’s D23 Expo.

Featured as part of the inaugural Disney and Marvel Games ShowcaseThe Skywalker Saga will add six new character packs later this year, introducing 30 playable characters inspired by the latest set of shows and movies. Those six, alongside the game’s seven pre-existing packs from Character Collection 1, will be packaged together in a complete version of the game, entitled the Galactic Edition, which will hit store shelves on November 1st.

TT Games strayed from specifics as to who exactly these packs will contain, but a summary graphic laying out the titles will certainly get fans speculating. The six packs are as follows: Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: Rebels, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Summer Vacation. And the developers did show off some action of Andor, Reva and Captain Rex, all of whom fans will certainly enjoy.

Combined with the game’s pre-existing packs — Mandalorian Season 1 & 2, The Bad Batch, Rogue One, Classic Characters, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Troopers — it’s hard to argue that anyone is missing at this point. When added to the 384 already present, the game’s character count will reach over 400 figures with this new collection.

There are a number of ways for players both new and old to get a hold of these characters, too. Those who already own the game can latch onto a bundle of both character collections, including all 13 packs, for $25, while those who have already picked up the first collection can add on the second for $15. Those looking for just one or two packs will be able to grab them at $2.99 each.

And, if you’re yet to jump into The Skywalker Saga, the newly announced Galactic Edition will offer the complete package, including the base game and all 13 character packs, for $80. If you’re like me, patience looks to have paid off in this case.

Is this the end of content for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

Now, I know there are some out there who hoped to see new maps or levels announced during this showcase. And I was hoping for the same. However, it’s hard to be disappointed with what we received instead, not just with this announcement, but with post-launch content at large.

LEGO games are notorious for being one-and-done entities, released into the wild and then left to the player’s imagination. The Skywalker Saga has proved a rare exception, not just because of its fair share of patches and bug fixes, but the addition of capital ships that didn’t make their way into the initial game, including the Venator, Invisible Hand, Home One and Fulminatrix.

That in mind, TT Games has already managed to surpass my post-launch expectations, even if this latest announcement wasn’t as massive as some had hoped.

This many characters, however, will leave fans to continue asking for one essential feature, a character customizer. It isn’t a dealbreaker, as The Skywalker Saga has already proven to be a commercial hit, but it does feel like the one missing piece in an otherwise sturdy construction.

All that said, day one players will now have even more characters to enjoy while those yet to jump in can experience the essential version of the game from the start. So, all in all, another win with this latest reveal, even if it’s the last one we may ever get.
