In an interview on NBC’s Today, Rosario Dawson gave Star Wars fans an idea of when to expect the premiere of her own Star Wars show Ahsoka scheduled to release later this year.
She appeared on the program to promote a documentary she is the executive producer on, Split at the Root¸ which focuses on issues about grass roots attempts to reunite families that have been separated at the US-Mexico border.
Dawson said to Today co-hosts Hoda and Jenna that the series would “probably come out in the fall” meaning we can expect the series to drop as early as September but no later than November. While this is still not a confirmed release date per se, the timing fits with the Star Wars schedule and with the Disney + slate overall.
In previous years, fans often had to wait all the way until the end of December for Star Wars on the small screen. The Book of Boba Fett aired so late in 2021 that it only managed to get one episode in before the year’s end. Luckily Ahsoka will not befall the same fate.
Aside from Dawson as the titular character, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Guns Akimbo, The Society) is reportedly portraying Sabine Wren in the Rebels characters live action debut. Also featured is Mary Elizabeth Winstead in an as of yet undisclosed role and Hayden Christensen returning once again as Darth Vader.
Although the new series is still many months away, viewers will only have to wait another week for the premiere of season 3 of The Mandalorian, airing on Disney + on March 1.
