There’s been some recent question as to how old Luke Skywalker‘s lightsaber actually is. Star Wars just recently revealed that it may be just a bit older than we think, and it may be surprising to some. They revealed just how he got his green kyber crystal that’s powering his lightsaber, and it revealed it’s age, so stay tuned for so much more!

Before we get into it, how old do YOU think that Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber is?

Let’s just cut straight to the chase here. Recently, Star Wars has revealed that Luke’s lightsaber is officially older than the…get ready for this…entire Jedi Order. Excuse me?! Yeah, you heard that right.

There was an issue of Marvel’s Star Wars that came out that taught us that originally, Luke obtained a yellow lightsaber to which it was later found to be damaged in abandoned. Of course, he needed to be on the hunt for a brand new kyber crystal because there’s no way whatsoever that he’d be able to make it without yielding such a super powerful weapon and tool alike. Here enters Luke on the planet of Christophsis where he meets with a doctor named Dr. Cuata who helps him with giving him a brand new kyber crystal to try and Force-bond with (get used to it). It is then that Dr. Cuata explains to him that that particular kyber crystal that he had just given to him was over one million years old.

This is truly amazing because it has really stunned fans all over the place. Dawn of The Jedi is set to come out in the next several years and that particular film will be taking place roughly 25,000 years before the film A New Hope. That’s only mince meat compared to the timeline that was just opened up with Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber. This could also mean that there are much larger universes out there just waiting to have their stories told. Could this even mean a multi-verse sort of them for the future of the Star Wars franchise?
