Throughout the year, StarWars.com has shared a variety of DIY crafts and recipes for fans to try. Often, they are cute, like the Loth-Cat pumpkins for this Halloween or the adorably grumpy-looking Salacious B. Crumb cakes. The crafts and recipes can promote upcoming shows, like with the DYI Hunter headband for The Bad Batch or Chopper cereal bars for Ahsoka. These articles are always fun things to do with the entire family. The latest entry might take the cake, and I’m not talking about the Obi-Wan Kenobi cupcakes.

The tauntaun cookie recipe is so wonderfully macabre and hilarious in the best way possible. This isn’t the first time the site has shared this recipe, but they brought it back again just in time for Halloween.

The poor tauntaun from The Empire Strikes Back, whose name is Murra, gives her life so Luke Skywalker can save the galaxy from the evil Empire. She has become an icon in the best-worst way possible. From vintage Kenner toys to the memorable sleeping bag with guts printed on the inside, Murra merchandise tends to be some of the more unique Star Wars items out there. At least Murra was the focus of the short story “She Will Keep Them Warm” by Delilah S. Dawson in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.

This cookie recipe is three cookies stacked on each other, with the center cookie hollowed out. You can put gummy worms in the middle to portray the guts. StarWars.com also added mini M&Ms too. When cut or broken open, the candy innards pour out of cookie Murra to a tasty effect.

I admit, I laughed the first time I saw this cookie. It rides that whimsy and morbid line so well to be delightfully cartoony. Fans of all ages will love in these little baked goods, and they are perfect for the spooky season.
