Young Jedi Adventures “Creature Comforts” opens with Lys Solay (Juliet Donenfeld) traveling with return guests to the show. It’s SF-R3 or “Aree” (Matt Surges) and CAM from the webseries Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel! They’re journeying together to document various critters. Lys calls into her friends Kai Brightstar (Jamaal Avery Jr.) and Nubs (Dee Bradley Baker) to share her exciting updates!

Lys must end her call quickly because a new lizard-like critter suddenly appears. CAM gives it a quick scan, and there is no record of the creature. The little lizard cries out, making Lys and Aree conclude it’s probably a baby.

Suddenly, a bird swoops down, trying to get the baby. Lys springs into action, drawing her lightsaber to try and scare the bird. But the winged critter is not afraid, dive-bombing Lys and the baby lizard. After several more attempts, the bird finally gives up and flies off.

Aree and Lys want to return the baby to its home. While inspecting a mud puddle as a potential home, Lys notices the lizard likes to dig. She names the critter “Diggles.” Aree theorizes that because they don’t see a nest, perhaps Diggles is exploring the world for the first time on its own as a way of growing up. Lys isn’t so sure, though.

Lys decides they’re going to get Diggles home!

They come across a stream with some root-like plants growing nearby. When Diggles digs at them, Lys rushes to help the baby. However, Aree suggests observing Diggles so they can learn about this new species. Lys is stubbornly refusing, claiming she promised to assist Diggles.

They decide to check across the creek. When Lys jumps across with Diggles, she accidentally drops the creature. It falls into bramble-like plants, and the thorns stick to the critter. It cries out, scared and hurt, running away from our heroes. It dives into a hiding place.

Lys coaxes Diggles out and removes the thorns. She suggests that if they can’t find Diggles’ home, she wants to bring him to the Jedi Temple on Tenoo with her. Aree explains that taking creatures out of the wild is a bad idea.

Suddenly, a massive leaf-covered lizard-like creature appears. It roars, making Lys scoop up Diggles. The enormous creature bellows and runs after them!

As they flee, Aree sinks into the mud, struggling to escape. CAM swoops in and distracts the giant critter while Lys uses the Force to pull Aree out. They sprint away but right into a dead end! The mega monster digs into the ground, throwing mud at them. Lys continues to protect Diggles while Aree tips a log over on the creature’s tail, pinning it there.

They hurry to Aree and CAM’s ship, where Lys has decided this world is too dangerous for Diggles to live. However, Diggles leaps out of her arms and tries to escape the ship. Batting at the door, Diggles confuses Lys about why it wants to go back outside, especially when they can still hear the big critter bellowing.

Then, it arrives and batters Aree’s ship, trying to get inside! As they watch Diggles run to the cockpit window and cry out to the giant beast, Lys realizes that the creature is actually Diggles’ mom. Lys feels awful trying to take Diggles to the Jedi Temple and wants to make it right.

She brings Diggles outside and releases the creature to its mother. The mom lifts the leaves on her back, and more baby Diggles hop out, excited to be back with their sibling. Aree has CAM zip out there and documents the creatures’ reunion.

Lys is a little bummed that she can’t bring Diggles home with her. Aree agrees it’s hard, but it is the best thing for Diggles to stay with its family. They say goodbye to Diggles and its family, and Aree calls this new species “Mardorsh.”
