After my young daughter goes to bed, my wife and I have been watching Andor and enjoying it like the rest of the fanbase. But before we tuck her in, Brooklyn and I still have to finish watching Star Wars Resistance. For me, it's a break from the dramatic storyline displayed in Andor, and I can enjoy the continued storyline that can teach Brooklyn valuable lessons.
In the fifth episode, "The Engineer," Brooklyn had many observations, mostly about her favorite female characters. One note she pointed out is that Synara San is clearly a better shooter than Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono. She lights up anytime Synara is seen in an episode. In probably the biggest hot take, Brooklyn thinks the ball female droid, CB-23, is cuter than BB-8. She has not said why, other than she likes the girl droid's colors and the noises CB makes.

In the next two episodes, "From Beneath" and "Relic Raiders," there were two different reasons Brooklyn enjoyed these. She likes the first one because Kazuda, Torra Doza, Flix, and Orca battle and confront Karnex Dragons. Brooklyn's favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon, so she was happy to see these new creatures in Star Wars.
The other reason was completely different, because "Relic Raiders" it really is the first time that Resistance brings up the Force. Brooklyn loves both Rey and Ahsoka Tano, so hearing the characters talk about the Force was a nice moment for her.
We then went on to watch one more episode, the eighth of the season, "Rendezvous Point." She instantly knew that the new character of Venisa Doza was Torra's mom for a simple reason: They had the same type of hair, instantly connecting the two. Brooklyn also said that, of course Torra deserved a cake, because it was her birthday during the episode.

For me, "Rendezvous Point" and "From Beneath" have important lessons for Brooklyn to learn. They both deal with family and sacrifice, and doing what you need to in order to protect and take care of your family, even if it's your found family. As she gets older, my wife and I need to teach these lessons, and Star Wars can help.
I can tell that Brooklyn is enjoying the Star Wars franchise even more. I have heard in her room ask "Alexa" to play music from the franchise. My heart skips a beat as she does that. Now, as I continue to enjoy the drama and storytelling nature of Andor, it is also nice to have more of a family story that I can continue to enjoy with Brooklyn. I will be sad once she and I finish Resistance together.
