Daisy Ridley would 'absolutely' join the MCU someday

Daisy Ridley is a Star Wars fan favorite even five years after her performance in The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. While we still don't know much about her involvement in a future Rey movie, we did recently learn she'd be down to join another mega-franchise if the opportunity arose.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, the actor said she wouldn't even hesitate to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) if she were asked. "If they call, absolutely," she said, even specifying she'd be willing to fill the shoes of an Avenger.

It wouldn't be the first time a Star Wars actor has made the jump to the MCU, either. From Natalie Portman (Padme Amidala in a galaxy far, far away) to Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Samuel L. Jackson, Taika Waititi, Andy Serkis, Ridley's co-star Oscar Isaac -- the list is actually quite long. Once you've hit it big in one arena, especially when Disney is involved, you're much more likely to slide on over to another. Even better if, like Ridley, it's something an actor is genuinely interested in pursuing.

We've seen Daisy Ridley portray a handful of heroines on the big screen -- Rey, obviously, but also Miss Mary Debenham to Ophelia and more. Even if she didn't end up landing a role as a future Avenger, she's more than proven she has what it takes to play a strong lead in a variety of stories. And with the MCU constantly shifting genres from project to project, both on the big and small screen, the possibilities are nearly infinite.

Would joining the MCU mean she couldn't also participate in a new Star Wars project? Not necessarily. Movies and shows are typically in development for quite a long time before we even hear anything about them, so it's very likely she could be almost done with a project in the Star Wars universe before even agreeing to make the leap to the MCU -- and perhaps back again, someday.

Always in motion, the future is -- but there's no shame in doing what you can to manifest some of the outcomes you want most.
