Pedro Pascal remains booked and busy following a packed 2025, which included The Last of Us Season 2, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Eddington, and The Materialists. The Mandalorian star is set to team up with Andor creator Tony Gilroy for his next project.

Via Deadline, Gilroy will write and direct Behemoth! for Searchlight Pictures. Initial reports suggested that another Star Wars actor, Oscar Isaac, who is also Pedro Pascal's best friend, was attached to the project as the lead character, but Isaac has dropped out. Deadline has revealed that "While the deal is not closed, sources say Pascal wants to do it and things are headed in the right direction."

Pascal has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as Joel Miller in The Last of Us Season 2. Joel was killed off in the series, but Pascal's performance in the limited episodes he featured in received wide acclaim. He was also appreciated for his portrayal of Reed Richards in Marvel's Fantastic Four, and just wrapped up his scenes for Avengers: Doomsday.

While Pedro has been a part of highly successful television series, including Game of Thrones, Narcos, The Last of Us, and The Mandalorian, he has started to make waves on the big screen. In Behemoth, Pascal will portray the main character, who is a cellist. While this news hasn't been confirmed yet, it is an intriguing collaboration for Pascal and Gilroy, and one all Star Wars fans will keep an eye on.

For Gilroy, this project will be a departure from Andor, which was a grand-scale revolutionary drama. Gilroy revealed a few details about the plot, which centers on "a third-generation studio musician who's been a nomadic gun for hire for 20 years and then returns to L.A. The whole movie is surfing on music. And you find out through the flashbacks why he left." Gilroy has admitted he wants to do other things besides Star Wars, regardless of how much Andor fans want him to stick around. However, he hasn't ruled out a return to the franchise in the future.

Andor was a massive success for Gilroy, so that all eyes will be on his next project. He has a good shot at another hit thanks to Pedro Pascal's stardom. While Gilroy is almost certainly on a long break from Star Wars, Pascal will return as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian's big screen debut next year, along with his pint-sized co-star, Grogu. The Mandalorian and Grogu is the next Star Wars live-action project, and the first Star Wars film to hit theaters since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres in theaters on May 22, 2026.
