The next LEGO special LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is coming up fast, and the voice of Jedi Bob himself is excited to share all about it. At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, Bobby Moynihan talked about his character, the inspiration behind the name, and more.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Moynihan shared, "My full name is Jedi Master Bobarian Afol." He then explained the inspiration behind the name, saying, "I don't know if people know this, but 'Afol' is a reference to A.F.O.L. This stands for 'Adult Fans of LEGO.' That is what they call LEGO fans in the LEGO community."
Getting into the short, Moynihan said, "They made me a Jedi Knight, and I can't believe it. It's fun! It's fun to play. It's fun to get into that room, and as fans, as someone who has been playing this as a kid, to get to do it for real with the people from Star Wars is the best. This is one of my favorite things I've ever been involved with easily. "
"I just saw it recently and it blew me away. I can't wait for people to see it, because I don't know if it's what people are expecting. It's a lot funnier, but it's also a lot more heartfelt. It feels like a real Star Wars trilogy saga, and it's really, really funny. "Bobby Moynihan
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is a four-part miniseries where Jedi Bob teams up with a regular guy named Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo) as the universe is falling to pieces. Time and space is being remade with all sort of crazy things happening from the Rebellion riding in AT-ATs and the mysterious Darth Jar Jar Binks. And yes, Ahmed Best is returning to voice the evil version of his character from Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy debuts on Disney+ on September 13.
