Hayden Christensen attended MegaCon in Orlando the past weekend, and the actor, who's been pretty busy attending conventions since his return to the Star Wars franchise, revealed that his daughter has no interest in Star Wars.
Hayden has a 9-year-old daughter named Briar Rose, who's often seen out and about with him. The doting father has discussed his trepidation in showing his daughter the prequels because he plays Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, and the character is involved in some violent scenes. Hayden now thinks she's old enough to watch the movies, but according to the actor, Briar Rose has no interest in seeing them.
Hayden said, "There have been a few times where I've offered it up, and I've said, 'Sweetheart, would you like to watch Star Wars?'" He says that Briar usually wants to watch a different Disney series instead and that "There's always something else that she's more interested in," including her current favorite show, Liv and Maddie. However, Hayden hasn't lost hope that his daughter will eventually develop an interest and says, "I'm waiting on her now."
The actor shouldn't worry about it much because everyone discovers Star Wars at a different age. Not every kid can be Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead's son. Hayden's daughter is bound to watch it sooner or later. When she does, she'll surely have plenty of thoughts about his work in Star Wars over the years, including his recent return to the franchise. Hayden's appearance as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader came in Ahsoka, and we're willing to bet it's a version of Anakin that Hayden's daughter or any child her age will find easier to connect with.
As The Clone Wars' General Skywalker, Anakin is wise and mature, like a big brother to Ahsoka. That bond shines in The Clone Wars, and Hayden brought it to life with Ariana Greenblatt and Rosario Dawson as well. There's no official news about Hayden's next project or whether he's going to return as The Chosen One in Ahsoka Season 2, but we're keeping our fingers crossed.
