Pedro Pascal has been on a roll for the past few years as the star of several hit TV series such as Narcos, Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, and The Mandalorian. But his latest role in Gladiator 2, the sequel to Ridley Scott's masterpiece starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix, has fans drawing parallels with his character in The Mandalorian.

The internet has been buzzing since the trailer for Gladiator 2 was released on July 9, with many praising Pascal's impressive transformation into a Roman General, Marcus Acacius. In the trailer, Pascal is shown fighting Paul Mescal (Lucius) in the Coliseum, and he even has a sword, which reminds fans of Din Djarin with the Darksaber. Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Pascal's transformation into a Roman General and had fun by photoshopping Grogu into stills of Pedro from the movie's trailer:

Several fans hoped to see Pascal in an episode without his helmet, with Din Djarin and Bo-Katan dueling it out over the Darksaber in The Mandalorian Season 3. However, the two Mandalorians didn't fight one another and chose to be allies to reclaim Mandalore. This, plus an entire season without seeing Din Djarin sans helmet, was met with disappointed reactions. Thanks to Pedro's role in Gladiator 2, fans will finally get everything they hoped for from Season 3:

This isn't the first time Pascal portrayed a character that reminds fans of Din Djarin. His role as an adoptive father in the post-apocalyptic hit HBO series The Last of Us was like deja vu for fans. Pedro's task in both shows was to protect his vulnerable adoptive child, something he's becoming an expert at. Pascal will play a superhero in Marvel's Fantastic Four next, but Star Wars fans are keenly awaiting some news of his involvement in The Mandalorian & Grogu. This time, they want to see him in the Mando suit. Hopefully, the movie will utilize Pedro Pascal's talent, matching the impressive fights and action sequences seen in Gladiator 2.
