Nubs Nation got a present today as it was announced that Season 2 of the Emmy Award-winning series is not only confirmed, but we also got a release date! Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs will return on August 14 to Disney+ and Disney Jr, as confirmed by Variety.

There had been rumors about Season 2 as one of the storyboard artists, Christina Mijares-Doung, shared on her Twitter account that she had recorded with Haley Joel-Osment, who is the voice of comedic antagonist Raxlo in the series. The following day, she was allowed to confirm that this recording was, in fact, for the next season of Young Jedi Adventures. This from Variety is the official announcement.

The Season 2 announcement for Young Jedi Adventures also revealed a first look photo showing Kai, Lys, and Nubs sporting a new look. They are wearing mission robes, which is something unique to the High Republic era. While I doubt that the preschool series will get as dark as the books (because those books get real grim at times), it is a sign that these Jedi younglings are growing up. Mission robes mean they are taking on more responsibility in their training to become padawans and eventually Jedi Knights.

This announcement came during the Annecy Animation Festival where Disney Television Animation is celebrating 40 years of work. Ayo Davis, the president of Disney Branded Television, shared, โ€œDisney Branded Television is proud of our four-decade legacy of creating magical and visually stunning animation beloved by young audiences around the world. Itโ€™s a momentous year at Annecy as we celebrate our studioโ€™s milestone anniversary and showcase some of our most exciting new projects and creative talent that are ushering us into a new era of storytelling.โ€

The Emmy Award-winning series Young Jedi Adventures is back for a second season! Tune in to Disney+ and Disney Jr. starting on August 14.
