There appears to be some confusion regarding what Temuera Morrison revealed about Boba Fett's future at Screen Rant's "From Clone Troopers to Bounty Hunters" panel at FAN EXPO Chicago.

According to several news outlets, Temuera reportedly told fans in Chicago that the poor reception for The Book of Boba Fett had impacted Boba's future in the franchise. However, that's not what he said. Morrison still sounds hopeful, saying, "I'm still waiting for a phone call, to be quite honest," and, "I think we're just put on the shelf for a little bit. Maybe we come off the shelf later."

Temuera Morrison.

While Screen Rant interpreted Morrison's quote as an indirect confirmation that he won't be a part of The Mandalorian and Grogu, Morrison left the door open. He never explicitly stated this and says he's waiting for a call from Lucasfilm. Several outlets misquoted Morrison, and the news spread like wildfire, leaving fans confused and disappointed to hear that Boba Fett isn't coming back.

Take whatever Morrison says with a grain of salt, as whoever's part of the movie will likely deny being a part of it. Actors are contractually bound to remain tight-lipped about their future projects, and Morrison is no exception. Boba Fett's return in The Mandalorian and Grogu makes a lot of sense, and he'd be a good fit for the story given his lifelong experience as a bounty hunter who's worked for the Empire. As Din Djarin returns to his bounty-hunting roots in the movie and tries to hunt down Imperial Remnants, it opens the door for Boba's return.

Boba Fett is still a beloved original trilogy character who deserves to be a part of another Star Wars movie. Temuera Morrison is a big name in Star Wars, and Boba Fett is one of Din Djarin's closest allies. The two worked together during The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett, which is a good enough reason to bring Fett back in the movie.

Given Tatooine's significance in the Star Wars universe and its frequent appearances in The Mandalorian, there's a high likelihood the desert planet will feature in The Mandalorian and Grogu. When it does, addressing the whereabouts of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand will be essential to maintain storyline continuity and avoid plot holes. Even if Boba is only there for a few minutes, it makes sense for Din to meet him, as the two have become good friends and trusted allies.

In short, if you're a Boba Fett fan, don't lose hope yet, and stay tuned for more updates regarding Boba Fett's future.
