How are you holding up, High Republic fans? You good?
StarWars.com released the first look at the upcoming series The Acolyte with several new images and a new poster for the live-action series. StarWars.com also released the list of directors and the composer for the series.
The first two episodes of The Acolyte will be directed by showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Dolls). Episodes 3 and 7 will be directed by Kogonada, whose work includes Pachinko and Columbus. Alex Garcia Lopez will direct episodes 4 and 5, and his work includes the live-action Cowboy Bebop series and The Witcher. Hanelle Culpepper rounds out the directors, heading up 6 and 8. Culpepper's work includes Westworld and Star Trek: Discovery.
StarWars.com also revealed the composer for The Acolyte. Michael Abels will score the series, and he's best known for the horror films Get Out and Us.
Along with the trailer, we also got a new poster and several new shots for the various characters coming in the series. One of the images include fan favorite character from The High Republic era, Vernestra Rwoh. She will be played by Headland's wife, Rebecca Henderson.
The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
Star Wars: The Acolyte takes place in the final days of The High Republic era, which is considered the golden age of both the Jedi order and the Republic. The multimedia project started with the novel Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule. So far, it's only been seen on screen in the Emmy Award-winning animated preschool series Young Jedi Adventures. The Acolyte will be the first time the time period will be in live action.
Star Wars: The Acolyte will premiere on June 4 on Disney+. Check out the first trailer below.
